The media pack that attended the launch of the 16th ZIFF Festival last night were hooked to an exciting presentation of the anticipated program of the festival which will open on 29th June in Zanzibar. The festival Director presented a cross-section of the festival highlighting the film, advocacy and music and arts programs of the much anticipated annual Zanzibar experience. It was all excitement when musical luminaries like Mrisho Mpoto, Fid Q, Mkubwa na Wanawe, Barnaba and Linah were presented as the acts that will star in the 8 nights of music at the festival.
It was also an occasion where the 28 sponsors of the festival were presented to the press. New sponsors of the festival include DinaDin, Ethiopian Airlines, Murdoch University, Cello, Colourprint, iPrint, Zanzibar Beach resort, Serena Hotels, Marumaru hotel, Zanzibar connection, Visual Media Institute of Iran, Matemwe Bungalows and Air Uganda.
Speaking at the launch the Chair of ZUKU the Event sponsor noted that ZUKU sees ZIFF as a most appropriate partner for the work the Satellite Channel does in Tanzania. “The establishment of the Swahili Channel and Bongo Movies on ZUKU TV soon after the relations is testament to the role that ZIFF plays towards ZUKU’s strategic development”, he said.The channel has seen unbounded growth in the region since 2011 with its focus on Swahili movies.
