How journalists can benefit from Twitter and other Social Media

Twitter and other social media platforms are becoming more and more important for journalists’
daily work. While the “new generation” of online publishers and bloggers focus more and more on social media to promote own content and to do more advanced research, traditional journalists who just worked at printed newspapers, radio and television find it difficult to enter this new media space.

This workshop focuses more about investigation and publishing with Twitter and its advantages compared to Facebook and other more private platforms.

The workshop will be partly practical and partly theoretical. And if required there will be assistance to create and improve the own social media (Twitter, web blog etc.).

Only local Tanzanian journalists will be welcome to this workshop.
Teaching will be in English.

Duration: One day, morning and afternoon on 20th July 2015
