“EFFATA ‘ROAD” tells about the migratory phenomenon in an unusual and alternative way.
In the first part, four young migrants (Gambia, Kashmir, Nigeria, Burkina Faso) slowly cross the extraordinary Sicilian landscapes, places of the “border” where the dazzling beauty mixes itself with life’s hardness (landing ports, reception centers, inclusion projects, spaces of daily life). Together with four famous personalities, step by step, without a script, between embarrassments and “on the road” insight, they unfold each other, exchanging stories, memories and perspectives.
In the second part of the journey we will listen, like a piercing arrow, the father of a young victim of the shipwreck of 3 October 2013 in Lampedusa. And we will witness a moving double commemoration: in Lampedusa with a suggestive installation/performance at the bottom of the sea and in Castellammare del Golfo near the cemetery where many of the innocent victims of this insane massacre rest.
