On the first night of the wedding of Badoura it comes as a shock and surprise to her husband Semi that she is not a virgin. Semi and Badoura grew up together from childhood and Semi takes his vows of marraige from Badoura goes to Germany for further studies. The situation in his absence makes Badoura succumb to her office mate Abdi. Then starts the torturous saga of a woman who had a past which haunts her in the present and is destroying her future in the ethnic society. Her life swings between chosing the one she loves and the one she is committed to. Talaaka is the series of various shades of gender base inequality, cruelty and a woman’s fight to find her place in the man’s world.
