The Village Panorama is an integral part of the ZIFF that involves different villages on the islands of Unguja and Pemba through cultural and artistic activities. A total of 5 villages (Mahonda, Donge, Kidoti, Matemwe and Jambiani) will participate in the festival and contribute to the cultural performances and activities. The overall objective of the program is to bring together various groups of people in the community to share experience and talents as well as skills development and also celebrate Zanzibari cultural and moral ethics.
This year, the Danish Centre for Culture and Development (CKU) joins us in a new Project aimed at improved access to film through outreach activities relevant for youth and women and improving ZIFF’s capacity to provide outreach services. Screenings will be conducted in villages in Zanzibar and Bagamoyo utilising films on topics relevant for women and youth in order to stimulate interest in the art of film. Besides the two cinemas of Chake and Wete in Pemba, film screenings will also be conducted in villages through mobile film facilities.
