ZIFF 2021 PROGRAMME- Expect the Unexpected!
Ziff2021 is now in the kitchen putting heritage back on the agenda, acknowledging the Blue Economy push in Zanzibar and linking tourism directly to the welfare and well-being of Zanzibaris and Africa in general. Come July 21st and the grandest menu of films and artistic activities will be on offer to all!
To Hotels, Transporters, Tour operators, ISPs, NGOs, Musicians and Airlines ZIFF is a natural partner. A visit to this idyllic destination combined with a most memorable cultural event, is a tourist’s dream.
The festival is expected to open with two eagerly awaited films directed by probably the most promising directors to come to the fore of Tanzania’s film industry. On 21st July and gathering pace and power after these many months of fear and anxiety following the pandemic, ZIFF’s ambitious festival programme provides a glimpse into the unique circumstances of the pandemic, of renewal politics and of cultural sustainability.
The programme will include films from Tanzania, East Africa, Africa, the Dhow Countries (countries surrounding the Indian Ocean), and the rest of the world. The festival will be both Online and physical with Online Workshops as well as hybrid workshops filmmaking. There will also be Workshops for side events of the festival like the Women Panorama where workshops on Entrepreneurial skills and the Blue Economy will be run with our European collaborators. Film screenings will be conducted in the Old Fort as well as in the Mambo Club in Stonetown, while in collaboration with a European streaming platform we hope to stream the entire ZIFF film program to the world.
